Dear Families and Friends,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with your children, it has been so nice getting to know their interests and what makes them unique.

Miss Patten is eager to take over our classroom and get to know all of you. Please welcome her by with open arms as you welcomed me in September.

We were lucky enough to have Miss Patten join us in the classroom for the last few days. The children took to her right away and made her feel welcomed with hand made beaded bracelets, and even inviting her to a few birthday parties. :)

If you need to get a hold of Miss Patten you can reach her at carlene.patten@gshare.blackgold.ca. During this transition I will make sure to forward any emails I received from you in the next couple of days to Miss Patten.

You are in great hands! Have a wonderful rest of the year.

Warmest Regards,
Lia Chernenkoff

September Self Portraits

Leaf Man Provocation

Using our creativity and a blank curtain canvas, students were inspired by our Sky Color book to paint.
We asked our students to tell us about their paintings, some were painting a tower, a lake, the sky and even a spooky ghost trap.

Using songs, rhymes and picture books is a great way to help your child develop their language and communication skills. It’s never too early or too late to start signing and rhyming with your child.

Not only is it fun but it is also a great way to get to know each other. Children’s communication skills develop at different rates but there are many things parents can do to help their child develop the skills to read, write and communicate effectively.

Sing to your child. A child loves nothing more than the sound of their parents’ voice. Don’t worry about being the best singer. Here are a few songs we sing in class.

Sticky Bubblegum
Sticky, sticky, sticky, bubblegum
Sticky, sticky, sticky, bubblegum
Sticky, sticky, sticky, bubblegum
Stick your hands to your hair, ears, nose, lap.
*This song is good for find motor skills(thumb and pointer finger-make a circle, thumb and middle finger, ect.) Make sure hands are in front of face (mid-line).
